On Feb. 28 at noon, Elizabeth L. O’Leary will deliver a Banner Lecture entitled “Across Time: Robinson House, Its Land and People.”
Just a short stroll from the Virginia Museum of History and Culture stands a tall antebellum structure with a soaring belvedere. Robinson House, built about 1828 and expanded in the 19th century and again last year, is scheduled to open to the public in 2019. Owned by the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, this intriguing structure was expanded to house a new regional tourism center and an exhibition about its rich and complex history. O’Leary, the project's curator, will share the story of the house and its inhabitants.
A Richmond art historian, O’Leary is a former associate curator at the Virginia Museum of Fine Art, which is a partner in this presentation. Please visit the VMFA’s website for information about O’Leary’s upcoming talk there April 12.
