In the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden conservatory, "A Northward Migration" uses sound to explore the migration routes of butterflies, especially monarchs, as they traverse the landscape of North America. As you walk through three wings of the Conservatory, listen for the sound of butterflies feeding, migrating en masse or fluttering individually across the sky. This sound installation will change how you see these remarkable creatures.
Sound installations developed and arranged by Vaughn Garland.
