Re: “Leading Lights

It is such a great neighborhood and this spot sounds fantastic. I will get there soon.

Re: “Sticker Shock:

Great reporting. I'm so tired of the fiscal incompetence and constant increase in taxes from living in the city.

Re: “Authentic and Auspicious

This place is great. The food is delicious, unique and inexpensive. They have also done a great job decorating the place. It's truly a jewel on an otherwise downtrodden section of Midlothian.

Re: “OPINION: Misplaced Priorities

Jake, You miss my point. I don't have an issue with my tax money going to schools and roads at all. I do have an issue with the constant increase. Keep in mind that the meals tax last year was to fund the schools as well. We already pay the highest meals tax in the state. With the major jump in property value this year, the city was already getting increased property tax revenue. On top of that increase, the rate is now going up. That is a triple punch to me. Also, people with kids get a get a tax deduction and I do not.

Re: “OPINION: Misplaced Priorities

As a person without kids, who doesn't take public transportation, what is the city doing for me while I pay more and more? The roads suck, the Pulse took out huge amount of parking in the city and I pay more and more every time I go out to dinner. Throwing money at the schools in to going to fix what are essentially social problems. I don't mind paying taxes, but the constant increase in taxes and utilities is really breaking my spirit.

Re: “REVIEW: The cozy Soul Taco brings a fresh flavor to Second Street

"On an almost deserted block of Second Street." Really? Why are you ignoring Kgogi, Fighting Fish, Salt and Forge, Big Herm's Kitchen, and the new Architecture AF office that are actually all on the same block? Not the same street but the same block. It just seems odd. Soul Taco is an addition to a block that has been coming back to life in the past few years. I'm excited to check out Soul Taco, but you lose credibility when your opening sentence is verifiably false.

Re: “Guerrilla Scooters

Everybody calm down. How are these any different than bikes?I don't understand the crazed reactions unless it is a rejection of the younger crowd who predominately use them.
