The Institute for Contemporary Art, a non-collecting, multi-disciplinary arts-intensive entity, will focus national and international attention on the already-thriving art scene in RVA...BECAUSE, not in spite of (as this op-ed subtly suggests?) having a world-class curator, thinker, advocate and supporter of the arts and artists such as Lisa Freiman. If anyone has the chops, tenacity and desire to focus external attention on talented individuals "toiling in the margins," Freiman does!
