Re: “Punch Drunk: Jack Gets Cheesy About Marriage

If only my daughter hadn't chucked chow as a little girl after a bad Taco Bell meal I might have been abe to convince her to go this route rather than the "expensive party" on August 5. Good Luck Jack.

Re: “Punch Drunk: Jack Ponders Massive Wine Orbs

Jack, if you don't like drinking your wine out of fish bowls check out Legend Brewing. They serve wine in teeny, weeny little juice tumblers. Not that there is anything wrong with that. As long as you aren't twirling your wine to check out the color, stemless is the way to go.

Re: “Weekly Food Notes: Jam-Packed Food Festivals + More

I saw Jason Alley on a national commercial for Duke's Mayo last night with Vivian Howard. That sounds like bigger news than an annual festival every other media outlet is pushing and you would have to be living under a rock not to know about. Where's the scoop Style Magazine?

Re: “Bon Air Residents Petition Against Goodwill

The elitist snobs of Bon Air should look on the bright side of this issue. Being able to divest yourself of unused household items to a conveniently located near-home facility is a blessing. I constantly have to trek over to the Broad and Horsepen location to drop donations off after a good down-sizing exercise at my house. I have never witnessed staff, customers or donors to be anything but a representative cross-section of America. Unfortunately that appears to be what scares these people.

Re: “Punch Drunk: A Grocery Neophyte

A smart, well-read, well-rounded, articulate guy like you doesn't know Almond Milk is a dairy substitute and thinks cauliflower grows in little pieces? Sounds like you were just having a man tantrum.

Re: “2017 Richmond Restaurant of the Year: Nota Bene

On our visit the pizza toppings were limited and the lamb pappardelle wasn't that impressive. I also thought the service was cold, uninviting and impersonal. The pizza pictured in this article, which is burned and dried out, is how I remember the one we ordered. There really is no atmosphere with the acid washed concrete floors and exposed, broken brick. We were seated right next to the open kitchen and, while this may be intriguing to some, our unobstructed, birds-eye view of the dirty dishes, trash can and food on the floor was a turn off. The sum of these dining deliverables, coupled with the hasty closing to rebrand, just doesn't add up to the best of anything. Especially compared to Shagbark which expertly provides a total dining experience.
