1. With Music: You can get your holiday rolling with the Rockin’ Road to Dublin, an animated blend of Irish rock and dance. It will be shaking things up at the Carpenter Theatre on Thursday, March 16, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $32-$52, depending on how hard you want to celebrate. dominionartscenter.com.

2. With Dancing: The Camel plays host to four bands, including the great world brass of Black Masala (Washington), Of Tomorrow, the Andrew Rohlk Trio and Schwa, on Friday, March 17. 3. With Family: The St. Paddy’s Palooza offers the usual family-friendly festival suspects, including games, music and snacks, plus stuff for adults. Don’t get confused if there’s an unusual number of bald event-goers. This event partners with St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a charity dedicated to childhood cancer research. 4. With Tradition: The Greater Richmond Pipes and Drums will bounce around town with their St. Patrick’s Day tour, gracing locals with traditional Irish music and bagpipes. Hear the group at O’Toole’s, Rosie Connelly and Keagan’s. A full schedule is available at grpd.us.

5. With lots of Guinness: Discounted, in fact. Jack Brown’s Beer and Burger Joint is venerating Ireland with specials on Irish beer, plus green beverages a-plenty.
