This one is always a blast, with the kinds of delicious food and friendly, welcoming company Richmond has come to expect: pancit ($4), chicken adobo ($7), lumpia ($2) and empanadas ($2). The first day, Friday, Aug. 9, the event runs from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and features live music from D’Originals and Remnants Rock ‘N Soul. On Saturday, the festival runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and features the bands Pinov Republik, Harley Boone and the beloved No BS Brass band. There’s a fun run for kids at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Free. The church is at 8200 Woodman Road in Henrico. For information, visit filipinofestival.org.
