“The Clean House”  Directed by Steve Perigard and written by playwright Sara Ruhl, this contemporary play about a couple and their newly hired housekeeper can be seen at Barksdale Theatre at Willow Lawn. “Hamlet”  The Richmond Shakespeare Theatre brings the classic tragedy of incest, murder and revenge to the stage at Second Presbyterian Church beginning Oct. 16 with performances through Nov. 9. Shows take place Thursdays-Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. $13-$26. 5 N. Fifth St. 232-4000.
“The Nerd”  Written by Larry Shue and directed by Stan Baranowski, this comedy about an ex-GI and the unexpected visit of the man who saved his life will be staged at the Chamberlayne Actors Theatre. Performances run through Nov. 8. $10-$20. 319 N. Wilkinson Road. 262-9760
