The 29th season of the Richmond Forum, unveiled tonight, will tackle subjects as wide-ranging as cartooning and national security.
The nonprofit speaker series announced the lineup at the conclusion of its series tonight at the Altria Theater, which featured Steve Martin and Martin Short appearing with the Steep Canyon Rangers:
Nov. 22
Endurance Swimmer Diana Nyad, who at 64 swam from Cuba to FLorida in September 2013.
Jan. 24
Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Garry Trudeau, marking his 45th year behind the comic strip “Doonesbury.”
Feb. 21
Former NSA director Gen. Keith Alexander and former FBI director Robert Mueller, speaking on “Protecting America in the 21st Century.”
March 21
Former Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, who served from 2006-2014 under presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama.
April 18
Neuroscientist Dr. Daniel J. Levitin and recording artist Rosanne Cash, who underwent brain surgery in 2007, discussing “Your Brain on Music.”
