Today, I have formally requested in writing that the Lambert campaign withdraw any complaint that has been filed with regard to the Richmond Crusade for Voters (“Lamberts Angry Over Unauthorized Toddler Photo,” Street Talk, May 30). According to Style Weekly, the Lambert campaign has filed a compliant with the Henrico County Commonwealth Attorney’s office.

The Crusade has not violated any election laws, and as long as I am president of the Crusade, I will make certain that the organization continues to be a responsible entity in the electoral process.

The Richmond Crusade for Voters has for over 50 years been an organization that has promoted voter registration, voter education and voter participation. The Crusade has a high reputation within the entire Richmond community, and I, as president, cannot in good conscience permit the reputation of the Crusade to be tarnished.

If our request is ignored and no action taken, the Crusade will vigorously fight the complaint.
