I was delighted that the Rev. Ben Campbell was portrayed in your recent issue (“The Gospel According to Ben,” Cover Story, Sept. 22). Ben has spent his lifetime investing in people and institutions in Richmond, constantly promoting reconciliation, justice and faith. He prefers to collaborate, but he has been willing to take principled, solitary stands. He is a powerful teacher about Richmond's history, encouraging others to pursue fairness and equality. Ben has been a personal mentor to me and countless Richmond Christians, as he challenges us to be people characterized by love and service. The Richmond region has been greatly blessed to have Ben as one of our spiritual leaders, and I thank Style Weekly for recognizing him.
