Reconciling the Right

In the story about A¬ber-Christian conservative Victoria Cobb (“Divine Right,” Cover Story, Sept. 29), this spokeswoman against gay marriage, among other things, is asked what her response would be if one of her children were to tell her that he or she were gay. “You love your kid, you love your kid,” she says. I detect a note of hypocrisy here. She is also pro-life because, presumably, she believes that every life is precious. I'm sorry the interviewer did not ask Cobb her position on the death penalty, but I think I can guess that it's not pro-life. Please correct me if I am wrong, but if I'm not, please reconcile the two positions for me. I've always had difficulty understanding that one.
