Qué Pasa Festival along the Canal Walk

Saturday, May 5

Vamos: It’s time for Cinco de Mayo — and no, that doesn’t just mean slamming chilled shots of Hornitos. Brought to you by the Virginia Hispanic Chamber, Virginia Hispanic Foundation and the Virginia Commonwealth University’s da Vinci Center, Qué Pasa highlights the food, music and art of Virginia’s Latin-American communities. Among the events will be an attempt to break the world record for the most piñatas: Organizers are aiming for 1,008. There also will be many food vendors — you can see the whole list on the website — artisans, vendors and live entertainment including Salsa Rueda Club of Richmond, the Latin Ballet, Claves Unidos, DJ Sergio Rivera Impact Entertainment and the Salsa Bachata Congress, all along the Canal Walk. 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Free. vahcc.com/que-pasa.
