Prabir Mehta Ensemble at Six Burner

Thursday, Oct. 29 at 10 p.m.

Quirky pop songsmith Prabir Mehta of Prabir and the Substitutes fame has joined forces with two classically trained musicians, Matthew (double bass) and Treesa Gold (violin) of the Richmond Symphony, to create a set of quirky pop and symphonic inspired songs — or pieces, depending on upon which side of the classical-rock fence you fall. Combining their shared love for Beethoven and the Beatles, the trio fuses together members' respective backgrounds to waltz down dark but humorous paths. Also taking on a new venture, the Six Burner restaurant will feature the trio as its largest ensemble to date as part of a new singer-songwriter series. Local folk singer and songwriter Adam Eubank will kick off the evening. Mehta's newest ensemble will premiere new works at Six Burner on Oct. 29 at 10 p.m. Free. 1627 W. Main St.
