PICK: The 15th Annual Richmond Jewish Food Festival

Held at Weinstein JCC Sunday, Jan. 15 and Monday, Jan. 16.

It’s that time of year again — time to enjoy all the delicious food there is to be had at the 2023 Richmond Jewish Food Festival held at the Weinstein Jewish Community Center at 5403 Monument Ave. Shwarma, falafel, potato latkes, kugel, knish, matzah ball soup, you name it.

This year’s fest will be a hybrid event; on Sunday, Jan. 15, there will be a return to sit-down dining with live music and vendors. On Monday, Jan. 16 only “take home- heat ‘n eat” will be available (although take home will be offered both days). Orders should be placed online in advance at their website here.

Among the bands on Sunday: King Sababa (Jewish reggae, 11:45 a.m); My Son, The Doctor (Balkan, Mediterranean folk, E. European, 1:15 p.m.); Alan Pollack (Gershwin piano performance, 3:15 p.m.); and Klezm’Or’Ami’m (Klezmer, 5 p.m.).

Order pickup will be inside the Weinstein JCC from 11:30 am to 7:30 pm both days. Payment is offered via credit/debit cards; no cash will be accepted.
Also, attendees have been asked to park in the neighborhood across from Monument Avenue and the JCC and catch a free shuttle to the festival. Shuttles will pickup passengers on Lake Avenue, Cutshaw Avenue, Treboy Avenue and West Grace Street.

The festival runs 11:30 to 7:30 p.m. both days.
