In an early-morning spree starting near the Willey Bridge, students from Trinity Episcopal School’s Outdoor Program commute to campus by river.
Organizers say the program, in a partnership with the varsity swim team, is a variation on biking to work.
Students and teachers jumped in — or kayaked and paddle boarded — from private river access points off Cherokee Road early Monday morning. They traveled half a mile or a mile to the school’s campus for juice and doughnuts before the school day began.
