Photos: Runway 2016: Emerge at VCU

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts transformed into a fashion mecca Sunday night, when the Virginia Commonwealth University department of fashion design and merchandising presented Runway 2016: Emerge. It was produced by seniors and juniors from the department’s advanced show production class. Featured here is work from Maria Fernanda Londoño Zamora, who was runner-up for the senior collections critics award. “I explored the combination of the romantic concept of nature’s dominance against humanity’s limitations and the modern technological sublime, in which we are in awe of the capacity of our own human minds,” she said in show notes.
