Passion Pit

Tuesday, June 8

The last time Boston-based band Passion Pit performed in Richmond it didn't put on a concert so much as throw a ridiculously energetic dance party, the kind that somehow had the power to turn typically reserved white boys into uninhibited ravers, jumping and shouting along to the band's musical sugar high. Led by singer and songwriter Michael Angelakos and his prominent falsetto yelp, Passion Pit makes some meticulously crafted electronic pop, full of its signature Technicolor twee. Recently releasing a deluxe edition of its breakthrough debut, “Manners,” Passion Pit performs with opener Tokyo Police Club at the National on Tuesday, June 8, at 7 p.m. $20-$23.
