Three employees of Cary St. Cafe were hospitalized at VCU Medical Center after an accident last night around 9:30 p.m. on a food truck parked outside the popular music club, according to a manager at the venue.
“We were getting our food truck ready and it seems there was a gas leak, when they went to light it three employees were injured,” says manager Michelle Clark. “Owner Robyn Chandler was one of them, but that’s all I want to say right now.”
Style currently could not confirm the names of two employees, so we were only able to check on the condition of Chandler and were told by VCU public relations specialist Anne Dreyfuss that her condition was “serious.”
This is a breaking story and we will update as we learn more.
Update: The owner’s condition has been upgraded to “good,” according to VCU officials. Cary St. Cafe still is not releasing the names of the other two employees.
