Off the Track

In his July 7 letter (“Passengers Will Follow”) Stuart Squier implies in his closing sentence that Main Street (train) Station, is “in a convenient central location.” I differ with the term convenient. I believe that the egress and ingress to the Staples Mill Station is far superior to that of the Shockoe Bottom inner-city location. Main Street Station opened in 1901 to serve 20th-century Richmond. While there may be a better alternative suburban location for a train station today than the Staples Mill Station, 1500 E. Main St. is not the answer.
