Off the Rack: New Owner Floats into Soak

Soak, a Carytown bath-and-beauty boutique, just got a new owner and a revamped look and logo to go along with it. Angela Davis took over in September.

Although Davis has a background in international affairs and nonprofit development, she’s always wanted to be her own boss. So when friend and former Soak owner Veronica Brockwell suggested Davis take over, she jumped at the opportunity.

Davis says she’s stocking up on Stephanie Johnson cosmetics and travel bags, and carrying Loungerie pajamas. (Calista Flockhart sported a pair on a recent episode of “Brothers and Sisters”). On the more practical end, she’s bringing in products from Matter Company, a mom and baby line that includes a belly balm, a moisturizer for mom to rub on her tummy to prevent stretch marks.

Davis is also looking forward to carrying diaper bags from Poesis, the handbag shop down the block. “It’s a great way for us to cross-promote one another,” Davis says.
