I read your article about the new XF Dance Company in Richmond (“The People’s Troupe,” Arts & Culture, July 25).
I was at its spring performance, “RED,” at the Firehouse Theater, and it was everything these two women tried to accomplish and more.
It was fun and it was art. And don’t let anyone fool you, their dancers are excellent. Rumor has it that one is working with Mia Michaels in New York now.
Another is dancing in the cast of “High School Musical” with Barksdale Theater and will be training in contemporary dance at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City this summer. But real credit goes to Christina Fitch for her amazing choreography. The signature number of the evening — “RED” — was a classic piece. I will remember it for a very long time. Congratulations to a new local artist.
