“My Fair Lady” at the Empire Theatre

Friday, Nov. 25 through Jan. 8

One of Broadway’s most enjoyable shows comes to Barksdale’s Empire Theatre on the venue’s 100th birthday. The classic tale, best known for the musical starring Julie Andrews and the 1964 film with Audrey Hepburn, features Eliza Doolittle, a cockney girl who takes speech lessons from professor Henry Higgins, a phoneticist, to pass as a proper lady. The Barksdale’s production features the local talent of Stacey Cabaj, Joe Inscoe, Jason Marks and Suzanne Pollard. The story also takes place in 1911, the same year the Empire opened its doors. “My Fair Lady” opens at the Empire Theatre on Friday, Nov. 25, and runs until Jan. 8. $24-$48. 282-2620.
