Monster Jam
1. Five monster trucks, including Grave Digger, Eradicator and War Wizard, run Nov. 4-5 on a dirt track, deafening you with raw power.
2. Returning to Richmond after three years, a pit party before the 8 p.m. start allows folks to get right up against trucks and drivers (no touching!).
3. The U.S. Hot Rod Monster Trucks roll over cars and crush steel, glass and plastic under those 66-inch tires.
4. Grave Digger runs a 1,500-horsepower engine on a 10,000 pound frame, equipped with OnStar, so the driver knows if he’s upside down.
5. Monster truck shows crank out around 110 decibels of gas-fueled fury, like a chainsaw against the ears.

Think Small 3
1. Two galleries, Art6 and Artspace, collect more than 290 artists for a show of small works, Nov. 4-Dec. 17, blinding you with raw talent.
2. Now in its third year, the show kicks off with a gala preview reception Nov. 3 at 7 p.m., featuring some of Richmond’s finest artists (touching encouraged).
3. The artists create works no bigger than 3 inches square out of
glass, fiber, metal, clay or paint.
4. A free shuttle runs thousands of pounds of art lovers and hundreds of pounds of starving artists between the two galleries during the preview, for full appreciation of the whole show.
5. The receptions crank out music by jazz pianist Russell Wilson and Northside Consort with Blake Morris, Ron Davis and Raphael Seligmann, piano notes tickling your ears.
