Moe at Pocahontas Live

Friday, May 31. 6 p.m.

Since the early ’90s, jam band Moe carved a name for itself with a distinct blend of psychedelic guitars and over-the-top drumming. Its first record, 1992’s “Fatboy,” established it as a favorite in the nascent jam-band scene. Along the way, the group has released numerous successful albums, including 1998’s “Tin Cans and Car Tires,” 2003’s “Wormwood” and its latest release, 2012’s “What Happened to the La La’s” as well as a slew of live albums, including volumes in the “Instant Live” and “Warts and All” series. Moe has been a staple for years at music festivals including five stints at Bonnaroo, multiple shows at Summerset, Lollapalooza and countless others, including the band’s own “Moe Down” festival in Turin, N.Y. Moe — often spelled with a lowercase M and a period at the end — performs at Pocahontas State Park on Friday, May 31, at 6 p.m. $20-$25. pocahontaslive.com.
