Craig Robinson at Funny Bone Richmond (March 8-10)

Laughter is in session when former educator-turned-comedian Craig Robinson [pictured at the top of page] comes to the Funny Bone comedy club this weekend. You may remember the Chicago native from his appearances in dude bro films such as “Hot Tub Time Machine,” “Pineapple Express,” and “This is The End.” Recently, he’s been seen in commercials for detergent and pizza and starring in “Killing It,” a Peacock show about a man who discovers he could get rich hunting snakes in Florida. It’s worth the monthly subscription to see Robinson play that role without ruffling his hair. The former music teacher will be killing it on stage from March 8-10. Tickets are $54. Showtimes vary. – Craig Belcher

amminal and Ward Harrison at Artspace

What happens when fingerstyle guitar and the British folk tradition are seamlessly interwoven with styles found in the Middle East and North Africa, then speckled with pop and jazz? Murphy’s band amminal boasts a superlative lineup – Pippin Barnett on drums, Adam Hopkins on upright bass, Stephen Williams on guitar and vocals and Bryan Hoffa on guitar, synth, banjo and vocals – and a set by Vocal Rest Records-affiliated artist Ward Harrison [former Hackensaw Boy] will round out the bill. Doors open at 7 p.m and music starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10. For more information, visit artspacegallery.org. -Davy Jones
