Now this is a local band that deserves your attention. A homespun hybridization of old and new melodic traditions, LT and the Great Scotts’ folksy acoustic soul is ready for prime time. The group’s user-friendly offerings, such as the up-tempo country rock of “Cheating Heart” and the ruminative Americana of “Right by You” are designed for maximum appeal. Their catchy, genre-hopping blandishments remain easy on the ear without resorting to contrived blarney because — like their Bill Withers, Dusty Springfield and Kitty Wells inspirations — the quartet’s charms don’t need inveiglements to get its simply stated virtues across. LT and the Great Scotts play Thursday, Nov. 6, at Crossroads Coffee and Ice Cream. 8 p.m. Free. crossroadsrva.com.
