Lady Gaga (finally!) at the Landmark Theater

Stefani Germanotta, more commonly known as the outrageously costumed, sexually uninhibited Lady GaGa, is a direct product of her musical influences. Appearing almost out of nowhere last year with her debut album, “The Fame,” this theatrical dance-pop singer and songwriter combines the flamboyant stage presence of past glam rockers such as David Bowie and Freddie Mercury (her stage name is drawn from the Queen song, “Radio Ga-Ga”) with the musicality of the '80s club scene created by Michael Jackson and Madonna. Altogether slick, boastful, feisty, glamorous and explicit in her persona, Lady GaGa has successfully inherited the life of an over-the-top production. After two false booking starts as far back as April, Lady GaGa is scheduled to make her much-anticipated appearance in Richmond performing such hits as “Poker Face,” “Just Dance” and “Paparazzi” at the Landmark Theater on Monday, Sept. 28, at 8 p.m. For tickets to the sold-out show name your price on E-bay and Craigslist. — Mike Hilleary
