“Judy Garland: Live in Concert” at Richmond Triangle Players’ Theater

Friday and Saturday, December 17 and 18

Though you'd be hard pressed to obtain a definitive answer why, the late actress and singer Judy Garland has developed into an unofficial patron saint among the homosexual community. Whether it's because of her own personal demons, or simply that she was the voice behind the Technicolor escapism of “The Wizard of Oz” and its signature song, “Over the Rainbow,” those who advocate for equal rights for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community identify with Garland and her work. Providing their own bit of reverence, Richmond Triangle Players present “Judy Garland: Live in Concert.” A unique performance by foremost impersonator Tommy Femia, in much the same vein as Rufus Wainwright's tribute recordings and events, the one-man show is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 17, and Saturday, Dec. 18, at 8 p.m. at the Richmond Triangle Players' Theater. $25.
