New York-based songwriter John Brodeur is among a modern fraternity of 21st-century musical artists who seem to be in constant conflict with the merits of what it means to be a band, moving back and forth between writing, recording and playing every part of albums themselves and collaborating with proper backing ensembles. Whether going it alone or acting as frontman, Brodeur has been producing homespun, guitar-driven power since his 2001 debut, “Tiger Pop.” Providing a book end to the past 10 years, Brodeur is set to release “Tiger Pop Ten,” a two-CD set featuring a newly recorded version of the aforementioned album coupled with a 10th-anniversary reissue of the original disc. Brodeur is scheduled to perform at the Triple on Monday, March 7, at 8 p.m. $5.
