in the West End is looking for a new name and is offering a $50 gift certificate for whoever comes up with it. If you’re wondering what someone’s going to do with $50 to spend on meatloaf and mashed potatoes, then you’ve hit the problem. The norm at the 1549 Parham Road location is French-cut veal chops, blackened steak, and other seafood specialties. The restaurant also puts work from local artists on its walls. The new name should be set in stone this week, Sutherland says. “James,” “James on the James,” and “James Grill and Gallery” have been suggested. Sutherland has one he likes, but he will probably leave the decision to a committee of family members and customers. We like the class of the name James, but do we really need anything else on the James? The restaurant is open Monday-Thursday11 a.m.-9 p.m., Friday Saturday 11 a.m.- 10 p.m., 673-7660. Zippy’s Ba-Ba’s in North Side will now be open for lunch. After seven months of operation, owner Thomas Sotos has found the time and staff to open at 11 a.m. Sotos decided to do lunch for more exposure. Like dinner, it will still include the usual Greek-style dishes at a price of $6-$7. Sotos reminds us this is not the stuff you’ll find at a five-star restaurant, it’s Greek home
