“Jewtopia” at HATTheatre

March 10-18

One of the longest-running, nonmusical theater productions in Los Angeles history, “Jewtopia” places Jewish stereotypes and expectations front and center with often hilarious results. Part of the Acts of Faith Festival, “Jewtopia” tells the story of two 30-year-old single men, Chris O’Connell (played by Lucas Hall) and Adam Lipschitz (Chris Hester). Chris wants to marry a Jewish girl so he’ll never have to make another decision, while Adam, a Jew, must marry a Jewish girl to please his family, but has problems getting a date. Adam and Chris form a secret agreement in which Chris promises that he’ll help Adam find the Jewish girl of his dreams if Adam will help Chris enter into the Jewish world. The show also features local actors Stan Baranowski, Liz Herlich, Michael Dunn, Crystal Oakley, Sarah Robins, Natasha Liu and Nicole Fratkin. “Jewtopia” opens at HATTheatre on Saturday, March 10, at 8 p.m., and continues through March 18. $12-$18. 343-6364.
