With 26 bands at this year’s Ukrop’s Monument 10K, the music is sure to take your mind off that nagging knee, or maybe just ease your fans’ boredom by mile 6.2. Representing one of the nation’s best 10Ks, participation this year’s event broke records, and was capped at 30,000. The big race starts Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and the First Market Mile Kid’s Run kicks off at 8 a.m.

If you’re already scheming how to park as close to the finish line as possible, forget it. Broad Street between Belvidere and Lombardy along with Franklin and Monument will be closed to cars on race morning, so pull out your bike and beat the traffic the old fashion way. But if you’re bent on driving, park east of Belvidere for best availability, either on the streets or in one of the lots.
