The Dave connections don’t end there. The Wrinkleneck Mules, primarily known as a bluegrass outfit, take up a more Southern rock/Americana tone on their so-far untitled, 15-track, May release, recorded at Dave Matthews’ private studio, Haunted Hollow. With production headed up by DMB vet Chris Kress, look for a special appearance by indie idol Will Oldham, also known as Bonnie “Prince” Billy. Keep up with the Mules at www.wrinkleneckmules.com.
Richmond’s hard-rocking RPG is fresh off its March showcase performances at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, and are gearing up for a West Coast tour beginning April 21 in support of “Fulltime,” the band’s 13-song CD. It includes the DVD “High Performance,” directed by Virginia Commonwealth University faculty member Matt Flowers. Flowers made a reputation for his work on Richmond’s Lamb of God videos. RPG is also working with BMI Distribution and cable TV’s A&E channel in an effort to license the band’s music for upcoming A&E programs. For news and merch, visit www.rpgva.com.

This marks the 30th year that Wilson has been making a living from music, and the 10th year that his “Purebred American Mongrel Music” radio show, “The Out O’ The Blue Radio Revue” has been aired on WCVE 88.9-FM. Page plays regularly at such area venues as Ashland Coffee & Tea, Shenanigans and Poe’s Pub, as well as nearly every local festival, from the Shockoe Tomato to the Pocahontas State Park Concert Series.
