Insect Surfers, Atomic Mosquitos and Armistead’s Army at the Camel

Sunday, Aug. 18

One of the longest-running modern surf bands, Insect Surfers formed in Washington back in 1979 and eventually moved to Los Angeles. They’ll be joined by Washington surf rockers Atomic Mosquitos, which have a theremin player, and Armistead’s Army featuring Richmond’s Armistead Wellford and pals. “It’s me, Charles Arthur, Todd Woodson and my bandmate from Love Tractor, Andrew Carter,” Wellford tells Style. “We are playing new originals that have a Love Tractor-esque feel and probably a couple of early Love Tractor songs.” $7 in advance, $10 day of show. 9 p.m.
