Richmond Arm Wrestling for Ladies: See RAWFL here. Dec. 1 at Balliceaux. Proceeds benefit Safe Harbor and victims of sexual and domestic violence. Doors open at 7 p.m.
Byrlesque at the Byrd: Deanna Danger Productions plus Boom Boom Basics Burlesque & Performing Arts Studio bring back their classic burlesque and vaudeville gala with a holiday twist. Local performers join guests from Raleigh, Baltimore and Washington for holiday movie montages, film roasting comedy, and house organist Bob Gulledge will be warming things up on the mighty Wurlitzer organ. Bring a can of food for the Central Virginia Food Bank and be entered for a raffle prize worth more than $200. Tickets to the Dec. 2 event are $10 and vintage and cocktail attire is requested. The after party will be held next door at the New York Deli.
Hamaganza: You never quite know what to expect from Richmond’s favorite ham-themed holiday. Mixing music, journalists, politicians, burlesque performers and Dirtwoman, Hamaganza’s sure to be a rollicking evening you won’t forget. Even if you want to. Admission is a 5-pound canned ham, canned goods or $10 to benefit the Central Virginia Food Bank. Dec. 7 at Hardywood Park Craft Brewery and Dec. 8 at Lulu’s.
Seasons Beatings: The River City Roller Girls hold this annual roller derby to benefit Feed More Central Virginia and the Save the Brain Foundation. Winter Sol-Stache: In its fifth year, this celebration of sweet moustaches and beer will take place at Vietnamese restaurant Mekong. Trophies are awarded to the best ‘stache in several style categories. The event raises money to fight prostate cancer. Dec. 20 at Mekong, 288-8929.
