History Came Alive

“She Slept Here (and There)” (Cover Story, Jan. 11) is an extraordinary story with thorough research and written with impeccable historical accuracy as well as drama, mystique and romance. I consider myself well-read and educated and have visited many of the museums noted in the article, yet never knew much of their histories. If textbooks were written with such eloquence, our schoolchildren might be inspired enough to read and study history with more gusto. Edwin Slipek made history come alive, if even for the hour I melted into the lovely story of Arabella.
