He’s Like the Arthur Ashe of Tennis!

Mere months after retirement, and Andre Agassi hasn’t even had a chance to get lazy and try his hand at drugs and/or a movie role. Fact is, he’s still one of the greatest players in the world, and the standing ovation he received at the U.S. Open says people forgive him for the Brooke Shields thing. Anyway, he’s decided to use his powers for good, so he’s coming to Richmond to play the Genworth Children’s Advantage Classic, a charity tournament benefiting nine local charities. Agassi is joined by wife and fellow tennis pro, Steffi Graf (which puts more money in those kids’ pockets — only one hotel room!), James Blake and Lindsay Davenport. And there’s a musical performance by our own li’l ace, Elliott Yamin. All play their various strengths Friday, Dec. 8, at the Siegel Center at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35-$125.
