At the Reynolds Gallery, two internationally recognized local artists, Heide Trepanier and Jack Wax, unveil new bodies of work with fresh new soul. In “Ether,” painter Trepanier — a recent recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant — pushes her usually contained style, bleeding color and mass into a landscape of depth and detail; her images blur into a chaos of aggressive hues. In “Corpora Delicti,” Wax presents works of glass and steel that appear both out of reach and in your face. Together the exhibits show new mastery from familiar hands, two visions based not on building walls but on breaking them apart. “Ether” and “Corpora Delicti” are on display at Reynolds Gallery until May 14.
