Subject: The Violence That Didn't Happen Again

Crime fighting, it turns out, actually works. The Richmond Police Department issued an e-mail last week announcing that crime isn't happening in northern Barton Heights thanks to some keen police and detective work.

After a spate of incidents in the North Side neighborhood in August, detectives observed that “there was a high probability that more violence would occur,” according to the Oct. 1 news release. “The Richmond Police Department immediately launched police resources to combat this dilemma, thus more violence did not materialize in Northern Barton Heights.”
