On a sad note, for those who like drinking wine or beer as the sun sets to live music, it was announced that Groovin’ in the Garden series at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is going on hiatus for two years.
The reason announced was the construction of the new Cherry Tree Walk. The music series should return in 2016, minus its momentum.
The last few years have seen some great shows in this setting, including Mavis Staples, Dweezil Zappa, and Gillian Welch and David Rawlings.
However, Haymaker Productions which booked the series will still be booking shows for Music at Maymont.
