While other musicians prefer luxury tour buses and corporate music, country and bluegrass legend Fred Eaglesmith goes for the gritty approach to life on the road. Eaglesmith and his Traveling Steam Show just finished their Tin Can Caravan tour, an 18-day journey from Chicago to Santa Monica. For more than 30 years, Eaglesmith has been hailed as one of the most compelling country singer and songwriters of his time, drawing comparisons to artists such as Woody Guthrie, Bruce Springsteen and John Prine. His songs have been covered by country superstars such as Toby Keith and Miranda Lambert. Eaglesmith’s most recent album, last year’s “6 Volts,” continues to receive accolades from fans and critics. Fred Eaglesmith performs at Ashland Coffee and Tea on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 8 p.m. $17-$22. ashlandcoffeeandtea.com.
