Independence Day Celebration at Virginia Museum of History & Culture
A full day of star-spangled activities including music, a scavenger hunt, gallery tours, food trucks and a photo booth. A large naturalization ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. virginiahistory.org.

CarMax Free Fourth of July at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden
Daytime event only, no fireworks. Family friendly event with live music from 1 to 4 p.m. by Happy Lucky Combo in the Children’s Garden, with a parade at 2 p.m. Enjoy free admission from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. lewisginter.org.

Fourth of July at Hardywood Park Craft Brewery
An All-American tailgate party with food truck court and music from a Tom Petty tribute act, Full Moon Fever. Fireworks at the Diamond are visible. 2 p.m. hardywood.com.

Fourth of July Rooftop bash at the Graduate

RVA Magazine Presents 4th of July at the Hof
Features two bands, three DJs, food and drink specials and panoramic firework views from the rooftop. Music includes Fredericksburg’s Elby Brass and Good Buzz bands plus DJ Hoody, DJ Phil Dice and Funk Pimps. Doors open at 7 p.m. $20 in advance and $25 day of the show. hofheimerbuilding.com.

Independence Day at Quirk Rooftop

Rockets Red Glare 2019 at Rocketts Landing, July 3-4
A two-day festival featuring a professional beach volleyball tournament and fireworks on the banks of the James. Free, family-friendly event will have food and craft beer vendors.
