The popular monthly music series Live at Ipanema features performances by local and regional artists that are recorded and photographed, then shared online. This month features a special two-band edition with local acts Floodwall and Night Idea. Floodwall is a Richmond-based four-piece that started last summer and already is winning over crowds with its electronic-layered rhythms and powerful vocals. Indie-post rockers Night Idea have just released their second record, “Paths,” which is full of dreamy and captivating rock with influences from jazz, progressive and indie rock. Note: The venue is small and tends to fill up quickly. Floodwall and Night Idea perform at Ipanema on Sunday, July 7, at 9 p.m. Free. ipanemaveg.com/lai.
