Did someone say books & beer?! Join Richmond’s new Poet Laureate, Joanna Lee, and poet and artist Gwyn R.C. Moses as they read selections from the newly published anthology, “Writing the Land: Virginia” on Thursday, August 1 at 6pm-8pm at Basic City Beer Co. in Manchester. The poets will take us on a trip to some of the most beautiful natural places in the region.
This #FREE poetry reading celebrates the release of the “Writing the Land: Virginia” that features poets and artists who were inspired to pen their experiences with land conserved by numerous environmental organizations and indigenous tribes from across the Commonwealth, including event hosts Richmond’s Capital Region Land Conservancy (CRLC) and Petersburg, Friends of the Lower Appomattox River (FOLAR).
Come grab a cold beverage and a copy of “Writing the Land: Virginia and learn more about the critical work of Capital Region Land Conservancy and Friends of the Lower Appomattox River to preserve and protect the natural and historic areas we all love in the Richmond region and Tri-Cities.
