Opening Friday, March 7th, 6-9pm, Big Deal Projects presents REFRAMING AUTHORITY, a stellar group show featuring new works by Casey Criddle, Naomi McCavitt, Sheila Whitsett, Emily Herr, Jordan Bruner and Nikki Leone. These selected works are presented in a loose fashion covering a range of emotions and experiences by the artists. REFRAMING AUTHORITY is about the reclamation of self, nature, hierarchy, and truth. The unifying idea of the show was perfectly stated by the great Susan Sontag; “The likelihood that your acts of resistance cannot stop the injustice does not exempt you from acting in what you sincerely and reflectively hold to be the best interests of your community.”
