Meet Murray and Margot on Saturday, December 13th at 11am.
Murray Goes to the Playground invites young readers into the delightful world of Murray, a confident and lovable Sheepadoodle with a heart full of curiosity.
In this debut picture book from The Murray Tails series, Murray and his beloved Lady—Margot Tohn—venture into a bustling New York City dog park, where Murray discovers the ups and downs of making friends.
Through playful encounters with pups of all shapes and sizes, Murray learns that while not everyone may want to be your friend, there’s always someone who does. With vibrant storytelling and a gentle message of perseverance and kindness, this joyful tale is perfect for children ages 3–5 who are beginning to navigate the world of friendships.
Margot Tohn, known affectionately as “The Lady,” has been Murray’s human since he was just eight weeks old. Oversized, energetic, sensitive, and mischievous, Murray quickly became a social media sensation thanks to Margot’s charming Facebook chronicles of his adventures.
Inspired by the joy Murray brings to children and adults alike, Margot created The Murray Tails—a series of children’s books filled with heart and life lessons. Margot and Murray split their time between New York City and Saratoga Springs, NY, where Murray continues to charm everyone he meets— especially kids.
A joyful explorer of careers and city streets, Margot has worn many hats—Olympic sponsorship wrangler, fraud examiner, garage guide publisher (yes, she visited all 1,100 NYC garages three times), Australian cowgirl, and small business whisperer. Her superpower? Reinvention with a wink. She holds degrees from Cornell University and the Australian Graduate School of Management. When not writing or chasing squirrels (Murray, not Margot), she’s hosting dinner parties, playing tennis, or soaking up theatre and books.
Murray Goes to the Playground is a love letter to curiosity, companionship, and the joy of everyday adventures.
