The Parkinson’s Foundation will host its first Moving Day Richmond, a Walk for Parkinson’s, on October 12 at Richmond Flying Squirrels Stadium. The in-person event is one of many community events taking place across the country this year. Funds raised through Moving Day will support cutting-edge research, care and education programs to improve the lives of people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) and their families.
Moving Day Richmond is a celebration of movement and exercise—proven to help manage PD symptoms. At Moving Day Richmond, community members will gather for movement demonstrations and can visit with partners, sponsors, and even Nutzy, the Flying Squirrel’s mascot. Participants can also take part in our signature We Move Ceremony, followed by a 5K walk.
Since 2011, Moving Day events across the country have raised more than $45 million supporting the Parkinson’s Foundation mission to make life better for people with PD.
