Join us at Crossroads Art Center for an enchanting evening on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 5-8p.m., as we unveil our new Exhibitions at our January 2025 Open House + Artist Reception. This event promises a delightful showcase of an exhibit by John MacLellan with the Richmond Triangle Players, a live drum performance by Babs Mohammed, our Gallery Member Exhibition Theme: “Love,” and our ever popular Juried All-Media show. Join in the festivities and savor delectable drinks, scrumptious food, and entrancing music.

John MacLellan Knows Where all the Bodies are Buried
John MacLellan presents a 24-year retrospective of fabulous photos and daring design for Richmond Triangle Players. The exhibit consists of a selection of posters and photographs created by John MacLellan from over 130 productions produced by Richmond Triangle Players from 1999 – 2023. Included are posters, promotional photography, behind-the-scenes photos and photos of performances.

Babs Mohammed
Babs will be playing the Djembe drum and telling a story about the Takia dance or Naabewu. The Takia dance originated in West Africa in the northern part of Ghana, Tamale. It is the happiest dance. When a new King or Chief has been elected, a group of Takia dancers perform this dance to honor the King. This dance is also performed at weddings and for newborns. It is a happy dance for every occasion in Dagomba tribe culture!
