Salma Hayek stars as Frida Kahlo and gives an Academy Award–nominated performance in this acclaimed feature film directed by Julie Taymor. Join us for a special screening in honor of VMFA’s exhibition Frida: Beyond the Myth. Dr. Sarah Powers, the exhibition’s curator, will introduce and then discuss the film, which captures Kahlo’s crippling injury, tempestuous marriage to famed muralist Diego Rivera (Alfred Molina), and the other life events that she powerfully channeled into her art.
